Description
This has a beautiful boars head pommel top and on the stag grip has the initials W.R. with a crown. Cross guards are hunting dogs with stag hooves coming out of their mouths. The piece has all silver fittings and the clamshell has a reposing male and female stag. The back of the upper fittings are marked KLK 9. They are beautifully hand chiseled with much detail and stapled into a perfect leather shell. I believe this piece to be somwhere in the neighborhood of 1870 – 1880. It is interesting that attached to this piece is a group of silver coins all affixed in a type of watchbob with a miniature working pistol.
