Description

Extremely rare B-10 jacket of the “Snooper” 868th Tactical Missile Training Squadron. This squadron was first activated during WWII in the Southeast Pacific Theater and specialized in night raids on Japanese forces. These units were equipped with radar equipped Liberators designated as the SB-24 search and attack bombers, or “Snoopers”. The mission of the squadron was to conduct low, anti-shipping strikes under the cover of darkness. Very rare group that was only in action for a short time running bombing missions every night.

The jacket is in used condition, but still very nice. The back has the “Snooper” emblem of a blacked out bomber with an S on the tail section. Underneath is the word Snooper, very nicely done. Overall it has a few worn through marks, mainly at the top of the emblem as pictured. Inside is clean and has the original B-10 tag still affixed. You may never see another jacket like this, as it was such a scarce squadron. Very nice piece of US Air Force history!
