Description

This bayonet is a very nicely done war art piece with the blade engraved by the G.I. The blade gives the 18th Field Artillery Group and all the places he and the group were in. It starts in Normandy 1944 and ends in Chemnitz, Germany 1945. The upper area on the handle is named to Henry p. Leath which may help in doing some more research on this piece. The scabbard is in super condition with a dated 1942 frog. The scabbard is numbered 1059, however the bayonet number has been removed when the engraving was done along with the blueing. Overall it is a very interesting piece with a history.
