This is a very interesting and unique piece. The dagger features a very nicely done nameplate on the reverse of the scabbard. The dagger belonged to a Gauleiter named Josef Wagner and it comes with a small print out detailing his career. The blade is super and has the windmill maker mark for Robert Herder. The motto is deep and has dark burnishing and all cross grain is present. The grip is clean with only a few nicks to the reverse and it fits tightly to the guards. The scabbard looks to never have been anodized and the paint appears to have a leather look to it. It also comes with the original tab style hanger which is very supple.
