The tang on this piece is properly marked by Paul Dinger. Marked with a 2 and also marked Damascuscheid. This dagger originated out of a 45+ year old collection. The dagger is 100% original and untouched. It has also been looked at my some damascus experts who confirm that this is a no question dinger. Blade has never been sharpened or cleaned. Has one of the most beautiful ivory grips I have ever seen. It has white, a light caramel, and a dark brown toning to the ivory. Shows no damage. The guilding on all the external fittings is extremely nice. Scabbard is extremely straight, both screws are intact. Retains an original naval knot. The interesting thing to note on this piece is that nobody has ever seen a Fredericus naval dagger. You’ll see Lufts, Armys, etc, but this is the first Naval that has shown up in the community from what I am told. Has a beautiful white felt buffer. No sharpening to the blade. Seats like a rock in scabbard.
