Description

This sword dates 1883 was used during the Franco Prussian war and is a beautiful damascus model. It is excellent condition with all engraving gilt and blued. On one side it states the recipient Major Von Rause which was in a Hussar Regiment 6. Done in a ribbon fashion on the one side and on the spine you have the distributor Worth Solingen. The oakleaves are deeply etched on the spine. The reverse has 27 names engraved into the blade with a 1870 iron cross engraved as well. Perfect gold and just a magnificent mastery of engraving and damascus work. The hilt is also deeply chiseled and has perfect rayskin with 70% gold . Has original felt washer and the scabbard is straight and true. Still has the 2 rings attached with fine detail to them as well.
