Description
WWII German Luftwaffe Flak Regimental Standard ( Standarte ), superb example of a rare and desirable flag. Made of fine quality red silk with bullion wire fringing to three sides, center with heavily bullion embroidered Luftwaffe eagle housed inside a bullion wreath. Leading out to the corners of the flag that show dark black swastikas. Complete and full size with the end section for wrapping around the pole still intact and uncut. Reverse side of the flag has the Iron Cross enclosed in the silver bullion work all remaining in good condition and bright. A very desirable and rare flag of the Third Reich period. Many famous photographs and newsreel videos from this time show these exact flags, and none so more famous than the Russian victory parade where Russian soldiers marching with the Standartes and throwing them into a large pile. Very few of these survived after WWII and very few remain in this fine condition.
