Description
This is the earliest version SS officer sword pattern. The piece has all nickel silver fittings and all original paint. The blade is stunning with a bright finish, no markings and measures 32 inches long. The grip is perfect with the SS rune insignia showing all the black finish behind the runes. The pommel unscrews nicely and shows the proper cap inside. The original very early SS knot is still tied to the hilt and has the tag still present to the inside of the straps. Scabbard as stated has original paint and the throat is SS proofed. There is one dent to the scabbard which is in the center, but other than that no issues at all. Overall a beauty of a sword that is hard to improve upon. Very rare to find the early model swords especially in this fine condition.
