Description
WWII German Luftwaffe Honor Goblet (Ehrenpokal) Kampf-Geschwader 55, fine example of an Alpaka goblet which retains much of the original lacquer to the award. Around the stem is engraved ‘Unteroffizier Max Scherbaum AM 28.5.42’. Goblet stamped to the underside ‘Feinsilber Alpaka Auflage Joh. Wagner & Sohn’. Unteroffizier Max Scherbaumserved with Kampf-Geshwader 55 ‘Grief’ as a Radio Operator / Air Gunner. He was awarded the radio Ehrenpokal. The date of the goblet would indicate it was awarded for the secoind battle of Kharkov on the Eastern front.
