This sword was presented by the Kaiser to his brother Prince Heinrich October 1, 1882. It is believed the date commemorates his first command which he received Jan 1, 1881. The sabre is fitted with a beautiful damascus blade and gold highlights. The obverse ricasso is marked Eisenhauer who was the sword maker and it is a standard size versus the grosser. The damascus Is flawless. Still retains alot of the gold highlights that were originally applied to the panels. Has a massive basket with the fowled anchor and crown. Has a superb Imperial sword knot that is also in great condition. The scabbard does show minor drag wear on the lower brass fitting but the leather is perfect. Overall it is a truly unique piece.
